CHALLENGE
In Mauritius, 25% of the population suffers from Type 2 diabetes and up to 11 Mauritians die daily due to related complications. APSA has focused its activities in the fight against diabetes through prevention, education, care and follow-up of people with diabetes or at risk. The Flag Day is the only time in the year when volunteers can collect funds publicly to support its activities. How can the NGO create awareness and make the most of this short period of 10 days in December to collect the maximum funds?
IDEA
RAP FOR A GOOD CAUSE.
Using a popular, yet unusual, approach to communicate diabetes information, this Rap-style clip features two sparring rappers and addresses the disease in an impactful and memorable manner! Production costs were kept low with many services being volunteered – and the clip was shared by APSA members and friends on digital platforms, WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube.
A couple of visuals, using compelling imagery and the ‘can’t be missed’ corporate pink of APSA, were created to reach out to different target audiences, via press and e-mailing.
